The following information is provided for people who have tested positive in a drug or alcohol test or who have come forward to their employer with substance use issues. We’re here to help you get your life back and return safely to the workplace. One of our credos is to “remove the substance, keep the individual” because we know that each person is a valuable asset to their company, community, and family.
Support services for individuals with substance use issues begin with assessment. Our experienced substance abuse professionals help you get the best help so that you can move forward without the substance and achieve your goals both at work and in other parts of your life.
How Return-to-Duty Services Work
- Experienced substance abuse professionals assess whether you have a substance use disorder and recommend the best course of action.
- You’ll be connected with agencies that can meet your specific needs, based on the recommendations of our substance abuse professionals. Depending on your needs, recommendations can vary from education to counselling to residential treatment. They may also include referrals to medical doctors, psychologists, and other professionals for further evaluations in areas other than substance use.
- If your employer wishes, we’ll also set up a post-treatment assessment and monitoring program to show your employer that you’re complying with recommendations and to help with your ongoing recovery. You may also want to look into services that provide support for families at this time as well.
Substance use disorder is a serious and potentially deadly illness that you don’t have to live with. It is treatable and you can recover. We’re here to help you with that.
